In contrast to the closely related Favia , the polyps and corallites (= "walls" of the polyps) in Favites are not clearly separated from each other. Very colorful Favites corals can tolerate a little more light and a moderate current. They only have very short tentacles and can therefore be placed in the gaps between tall corals.
